The Export Manager
Turn your drafts into a compiled manuscript ready for editing, sharing, or publishing.
Supported Export Formats
The Export Manager can compile your entire book or selected chapters into several industry-standard formats:
- PDF (.pdf): A beautifully formatted, print-ready document complete with a generated Title Page and Table of Contents.
- Word Document (.docx): Perfect for sending to editors, beta readers, or submitting to literary agents.
- Markdown (.md): A lightweight, plain-text format great for archiving or moving to other writing tools.
- HTML (.html): Useful for web publishing or custom formatting.
Automatic Token Expansion
One of the most powerful features of misenous is the Element system. When you use the [[element:ID]]
syntax in your drafts (e.g., selecting a character from the element dropdown), it ensures your character's name
is linked to its master record.
Behind the Scenes
When you run an export, our compilation engine scans your entire manuscript and automatically replaces every single Element Token with the properly formatted name of the character/location. If you decide to rename your protagonist right before exporting, you only have to change it once in the Element tab—the Export Manager will effortlessly update every reference in the final exported file!
Export Options
When configuring a new export, you have several granular controls:
- Chapter Range: Export the whole book, or just a specific set of chapters (e.g., Chapters 1-5 for a sample submission).
- POV Filtering: Export only the scenes written from a specific character's Point of View. This is incredibly useful for reviewing character voice and arc consistency.
- Include/Exclude Front Matter: Optionally generate title pages and Table of Contents for polished formats like PDF and DOCX.
